Head-Turning Moments as Miss Curvy Contestants Storm Parliament

Parliament: Miss Curvy beauty pageant contestants have stormed Parliament leaving male MPs extremely excited.
The curvy babes who are over 30 in number entered Parliament through the small gate to meet Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga over their forthcoming Miss Curvy beauty pageant.
Anne Mungoma, the chief executive officer of Miss Curvy Uganda, recently confirmed that the contest will take place on April 26, 2019 at Hotel Africana. The miss curvy contestants are set to defend their upcoming contest after it received backlash from the public.
This comes a day after Kadaga on Monday met women activists under their umbrella-Uganda Women Network (UWONET) who asked Parliament to block the Miss Curvy contest. Apparently, over 200 babes have registered for the Miss Curvy contest.
While meeting Kadaga, Mungoma disputed allegations that Miss Curvy Contest is to turn women into a sex hub for tourists. She said that the pageant is meant to appreciate the plus sized women who are fighting with self-esteem and are regularly despised for their big sizes.
“This pageant is to educate, inspire and impart confidence in plus sized ladies. We want to be ambassadors as we develop their self-esteem and this will not be a one off pageant but annual,” Mungoma said,, adding that the Miss Curvy contestants will be ambassadors of tourism who will travel to different sites.
“We can't separate tourism from beauty. We have ladies in plus sizes who feel ashamed dressing up in certain clothes because of how they are marginalized. We have seen girls who drop out of schools because of their big sizes. So we want to give us ladies also an equal platform to showcase their beauty and be proud of their bodies,” she said.
Kadaga gave the organizers of the pageant a green light to continue with the pageant saying the public had misconceived the purpose of the idea.
“We need to appreciate all women in all sizes. Am glad you have clarified the misconception and it is your right to particulate in the pageant. You could even be together with Abenakyo [Quiin],” Kadaga said.
