The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has expressed his sympathies following the sudden passing of Peter Banura Araali.

Banura was the son of retired Major General Matayo Kyaligonza, a veteran of the National Resistance Army (NRA) struggle.

In a statement released Sunday, Col Chris Magezi, the Military Assistant to the CDF, conveyed the General’s tribute to the Kyaligonza family.

The message described him as a vibrant, committed, and patriotic leader who was in the prime of his life, noting that Uganda has lost an influential and promising future leader.

Gen Kainerugaba extended his prayers to the Kyaligonza family, standing in solidarity with them during this difficult time of mourning.
