State Minister for ICT Peter Ogwang has said that he will not go against the NRM flag bearer if he loses in the party elections.

Ogwang is contesting for NRM flag for newly created Ngariam County against a little known Augustine Otuko, his former aide.

The party is today, Friday conducting Primaries to elect flag bearers for women representatives and constituency MPs across the country.

Ogwang said that in the unfortunate event that he loses in today's elections, he will not contest as Independent in the 2021 polls.

"For the good of the NRM Party, I will not contest as an Independent candidate if I lose in today's Party Primaries. May the best candidate win," Ogwang said.

Last year, NRM MPs rejected the move to block NRM candidates who lose in the Primaries, to contest as Independents.
