President Museveni has mourned General Moses Ali, describing him as a long-serving soldier, political leader and modern farmer.
Gen Ali died at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala on July 18, 2026.
“It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of our brother Gen. Moses Ali. He died today at Nakasero Hospital, at 1600 hours,” President Museveni said in a statement posted on X.
The President praised Gen Ali for serving Uganda in both military and political roles for many years.
“Gen Moses Ali has provided service to his country for a long time, as a soldier and a political leader,” he said.
President Museveni also recognised Gen Ali’s contribution to agriculture in the West Nile sub-region.
“In the West Nile region, he provided the good example of being a big modern farmer. We shall miss greatly his contribution,” he said.
He prayed for the former minister’s soul to rest in peace.
“May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace,” President Museveni said.
