The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has today launched a website to enrol new members and collect endorsements for its Chairman Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s presidential bid in 2031.
The platform follows requests from supporters who asked the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Kainerugaba to allow them to endorse his candidature online. He then directed PLU Secretary General Fadhil Twala to oversee the initiative.
PLU is targeting 20 million signatures across Uganda as it seeks to demonstrate grassroots support for Gen Kainerugaba.
Through the website, supporters can now sign endorsements online and subscribe for PLU membership.
The website was launched alongside the Patriotic Officers’ Identification Cards at the PLU Secretariat in Naguru, Kampala. Deputy Speaker of Parliament and PLU Special Envoy Thomas Tayebwa graced the event.
The digital platform allows PLU to recruit members both physically and online, including Ugandans living abroad.
Several political, religious and business figures attended the launch. They included former vice president Gilbert Bukenya, House of Prayer Ministries International pastor Aloysius Bujjingo, and businessmen Sudhir Ruparelia and Godfrey Kirumira.
