17 Arrested in Kabale for Defying Night Curfew

Police in Kabale police have arrested 17 suspects for allegedly disobeying the presidential directives on covid19 and continuously moving at night during curfew hours.

The suspects were picked from areas of northern and southern divisions within Kabale municipality moving beyond 10pm. They are; Batista Niwamanya, Denis Akankwasa, Hillary Mubangizi, Amos Kakwenzire, Francis Masiko, Brian Byamugisha, Nelson Tumwesigye, John Mwesigye, Olivia Kobusingye, Cleofas Twinomujuni, Edward Twesigye, Gard Namanya. Others are Amos Tukashaba and Kenneth Twinomujuni, Twinomujuni Cleofas, Twesigye Edward, Tukashaba Amosi and Twinomujuni Kenneth.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson says arrangements are being made to have the group arraigned in court for disobedience of lawful orders.

President Yoweri Museveni imposed a night curfew last month, barring people from moving after 7pm.
