KAMPALA. The Executive Director of Chapter Four Uganda, a Non-Government Organisation Mr. Nicholas Opiyo is planning to flee to the United States of America.

According to sources within the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the opposition in general, Mr. Opiyo has already received refugee status from the US embassy in Kampala.

It is however not clear why Mr. Opiyo would seek refugee status in the US since he has been carrying out his NGO activities in the country without any disturbance.

"This flight to the US is imminent and once there he will be tasked with coordinating international media and general PR duties for NUP," a source familiar with the development told this website.

NUP is led by Kyadondo East Member of Parliament who is currently a presidential candidate in the 2021 elections.
