Eight Held after Armed Robbery at Premier Sports Betting Company

Police at Old Kampala have arrested eight suspects following an armed robbery at Premier Sports Betting Ltd in Bukesa.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says they responded to information about the armed robbery at the Betting Company on Friday at around 3am.

“Four thugs armed with a rifle attacked the cashiers of the Betting company, put them on gunpoint before demanding for money and mobile phone sets,” Owoyesigyire said adding that police recovered a SAR rifle from the suspects, four motorcycles, mobile phone sets and Sh1Million that had been robbed.

Owoyesigyire explained that  two of the suspects are security guards attached to SGA Security Company. “We have also obtained statements from the cashiers who witnessed the attack. The information will help us in the prosecution of the suspects,” he said.
