The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, was among the high-profile guests who graced the swearing-in ceremony of Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Sunday.

The event, held at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, marked Kagame's fourth term as the president of the East African nation.

The highly attended event was enlivened by a number of cheerful activities, including musical performances and military parades.

Gen Muhoozi was received by his Rwandan counterpart, Gen Mubarak Muganga, and other senior RDF officers. He is accompanied by Maj Gen James Birungi, the Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security, and Brig Gen Richard Karemire, who heads the UPDF's joint staff formal education, sports, and culture department. Alexander Akandwanaho and Andrew Mwenda are also part of his entourage.

During his stay in Kigali, Gen Muhoozi, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, is expected to hold meetings with President Paul Kagame and his counterpart, Gen Mubarak Muganga.
