The Commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC) Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba met with military experts from the Russian defence industry.
Gen. Kainerugaba, who hailed Russia for maintaining ties with Uganda -- said the experts are also doing some work with the Uganda People’s Defence Force.
“Today, it was my pleasure to meet a delegation of the Russian military experts working with the UPDF and representatives of the Russian defence industry,” Gen Kainerugaba tweeted Tuesday evening.
“I thank the Russian Federation for their close fraternal relations with Uganda," the General added.
The meeting happened at the SFC headquarters in Entebbe.
The meeting follows another one the SFC chief had with the Russian delegation that represented President Vladimir Putin at President Yoweri Museveni’s May 12 swearing-in ceremony.
In 2019, President Museveni met with Putin on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Summit and Economic Forum in Sochi where they discussed cooperation in the areas of manufacturing human and livestock vaccines, exploring space technology, construction, cyber technology and agriculture among others.
