Museveni Appoints new Deputy Commanders of UPDF Infantry Divisions

President Yoweri Museveni and Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has promoted and appointed two senior officers.

According to a statement issued by UPDF spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulayigye, Museveni has promoted Col. Paul Muhanguzi to rank of Brigadier General and also appointed him as the Second in Command of the Second Infantry Division.

Museveni also promoted Col. Peter Akankunda to Brigadier General and subsequently, promoted him as Second in Command of the First Infantry Division.

“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the Senior Officers upon their well-deserved promotions and appointments,” Brig Kulayigye said.
