Museveni Says Uganda Needs 'Robust Education System' to Foster Investment
President Yoweri Museveni said that Uganda needs a futuristic education system that will train the workforce required to foster the country's investment needs.
"We need a robust education system that creates a better-skilled workforce to feed our investment needs, a good health system to keep the workforce medically sound, and a 360-transport network to unlock markets," President Museveni said Tuesday afternoon while addressing the Private Sector CEOs Forum at Chobe Safari Lodge.
President Museveni also reiterated the government’s focus on strategic stimuli to enable them to produce goods and services at a cheaper cost.
"Peace is already a vital stimulus; we now need more," he said.
"The NRM continues to improve the tarmac road cover across the country and we are working around the clock to lower the electricity tariffs so the cost of production goes down. We should look at water and railway transport too."
