Uganda Airlines Expands Route Network With Three New Destinations
Uganda Airlines has announced the launch of three new routes, connecting Uganda to more destinations in Africa.
The new routes will commence operations in September 2024, with flights to Abuja, Nigeria starting on September 12, and Lusaka, Zambia, and Harare, Zimbabwe on September 25.
This expansion marks a significant milestone for Uganda Airlines, which has been steadily growing its route network since its revival in 2019.
The new routes will offer passengers greater connections and opportunities for business, leisure, and cultural exchange.
Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, is a key hub for business while Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, is a thriving economic center. Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, is a historic city with a rich cultural heritage.
Uganda Airlines' fleet of modern aircraft, including the Airbus A330-800neo and the Bombardier CRJ900, will operate the new routes.
The airline's expansion is also expected to boost tourism in Uganda, with the country's natural attractions, such as the Source of the Nile, Lake Victoria, and the Rwenzori Mountains, becoming more accessible to visitors from across Africa.
"We are thrilled to announce the launch three new routes. Greater connections new opportunities," a statement on the Uganda Airlines X platform noted.
