Uganda Baati Limited has been crowned the manufacturer of the Best Quality Iron Sheets at the prestigious People’s Choice Awards 2024. This recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the company, which has consistently delivered top-notch roofing solutions since 2020.

The award was received by Lynn Vivienne Mirembe, Brand Manager at Uganda Baati, during a ceremony that celebrated the achievements of Uganda’s leading brands and industry leaders. The event, graced by Betty Amongi, Minister for Gender, Labour, and Social Development, featured her representing the Vice President as the Guest of Honour.

Amongi commended the award winners, stating, “The People’s Choice Awards celebrate excellence and highlight the critical role quality plays in driving Uganda’s socio-economic progress.” She lauded their dedication to setting high standards, improving lives, and inspiring others to strengthen Uganda’s growth trajectory.

The annual People’s Choice Awards survey captures consumer perceptions of quality across various categories, in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). Uganda Baati has received several honours in the past, including Best Roofing and Steel Company (2020-21) and the Best Quality Iron Sheets Award (2022).

Speaking on the achievement, Uganda Baati CEO George Arodi expressed gratitude to the consumers and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining leadership in quality and innovation.

"We have always believed that innovation is key to staying relevant in a competitive market," Arodi said. "Our customers’ needs are constantly changing, and it is our responsibility to anticipate these changes and deliver solutions that not only meet but exceed their expectations.”

The award marks a significant milestone in a celebratory year for Uganda Baati, which is commemorating 60 years of service in Uganda. Since its establishment in 1964, the company has evolved to meet customer needs and contribute to national development through innovative and high-quality building solutions.

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Arodi said, “We have expanded our product range to include complete building solutions and embraced digital channels to make it easier for customers to access our products. The future holds even greater promise as we explore new technologies and sustainable practices that will define the next chapter of our growth.”

Uganda Baati’s continued focus on quality and innovation positions it as a key player in shaping Uganda’s construction and development landscape.
