Uganda Cranes interim head coach Abdallah Mubiru on Monday named a 25 man squad for the international friendly match with Kenya Harambe Stars slated for 8th September 2019 in Nairobi.

Uganda is using the fixture to prepare for the 2020 CHAN Qualifiers against Burundi and the 2021 AFCON Campaign that starts in November when Uganda Cranes plays Burkina Faso and Malawi.

However, the Uganda Cranes team for Kenya test is dominated by senior players most of which featured at the 2019 AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) tournament.

Mamelodi Sundowns Custodian and Cranes skipper Denis Onyango lead foreign-based charges with other using suspects making another cut.

Jamal Salim, Isaac Muleme, Derrick Nsibambi, Bevis Mugabi, and Ronald Mukiibi are the major absentees from the team that traveled to Egypt a few months ago.

Clubless Allan Katerega is also another player who is missing in the team yet he played at the AFCON.

Locally, Kyetume FC goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and KCCA’s sensation Allan Okello are the major inclusions into the team.

Locally based players will train on Thursday morning at the StarTimes Stadium before flying out the same day later in the evening. Foreign-based players will join the rest of the team later for they are expected to fly straight to Kenya.
