Officials from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) met to discuss ways of strengthening collaboration in order to further strengthen service delivery.

During the meeting, according to an official statement, the acting UNBS Executive Director David Livingstone Ebiru and the URSB Registrar General Mercy K. Kainobwisho resolved to enhance collaboration in areas of stakeholder engagements/sensitizations, trainings and enforcement activities.

While the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) assures quality of locally manufactured products to enhance the competitiveness of exports in regional and international markets through product certification, business registration with URSB is a prerequisite for all entities applying for UNBS certification.

On its website, UNBS says the two government agencies have embarked on operationalizing their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a bid to promote fair trade and precision in industry through reliable measurement systems.
