Delayed Fuel Delivery Leaves Passengers Aboard Uganda Airlines Stranded
Uganda Airlines has apologized over an ‘unfortunate’ incident of delayed fuel delivery which left passengers aboard the Bombardier CRJ-900 plane stranded for hours.
According to a statement from Uganda Airlines, the mishap happened yesterday, July 12th, 2021 at Julius Nyerere International Airport on their flight UR 321.
“Our service was affected by a mix up in delayed fuel delivery to the Aircraft caused by our supplier in Dar es Salaam. We have taken up the matter with them to ensure a repeat of the same does not reoccur in future. We wish to assure you that this mishap does not define our day to day standards of service,” the statement reads.
This ugly incident comes amidst reports that one of Uganda Airline's CRJ900 Bombardier jet has been grounded at Entebbe for more than 1 month due to delayed supply of spare parts from the manufacturer. This has been attributed to the current COVID-19 pandemic which has ruined movements worldwide.
