Eid Al-adha: Museveni Urges Believers to Emulate Prophet Ibrahim
President Yoweri Museveni has urged all believers to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s example of total devotion and submission if their sacrifices are to be accepted by God/Allah.
In his message to commemorate Eid Al-adha, Museveni asked believers to renew their faith in God by accepting to follow the path of Prophet Ibrahim who accepted to sacrifice his only son, Ismail.
Eid Al-adha also known as the “Festival of the sacrifice” is the day when Muslims commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s portray of total faith and obedience to Allah when he accepted to sacrifice his son. Across the country and entire world, Muslims will be slaughtering animals as their sacrifice to Allah.
“All believers are called upon to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s example of total devotion and submission to the will of Allah. May your good deeds and sacrifices be accepted and blessed by Allah. Mama Janet joins me in wishing you blessed Eid Al-adha prayers and celebrations,” Museveni said in his short message.
Museveni further reminded the public to continue observing COVID-19 SOPs saying, “it is by strict observance of these protocols that we shall be able to defeat this monster- the COVID-19.”
Government through Ministry of Public Service on Monday officially declared that today, Tuesday will be a public holiday to allow the general public celebrate Eid Al-adha, but warned that the “day shall be observed and celebrated from home” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
