Lilian Mbabazi on Why Mya Baganda Might Not Perform at Blu*3 Reunion Concert
Lilian Mbabazi revealed that Mya Baganda may not attend a joint concert organized by the former Blu*3 members, which is set for Women's Day, March 8, 2024, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
According to Mbabazi, who appeared in the third episode of season 2 of Conversessions, Mya, real name Edith Namuleme Baganda, has not been in touch with any of the original members (Mbabazi herself, Cindy Sanyu and Jackie Chandiru), so they are not yet sure if she would be willing to participate.
"Mya on the other hand has not been in contact with any of us for a minute and I feel that it would be nice for her to be a part of the concert and it's coming very soon in March... it's a good venture and it's something that will empower more people," said Mbabazi.
The trio announced their concert after performing together for the first time in many years on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Protea Hotel Kampala Skyz in Naguru, Kampala.
That show, which they dubbed The Blu3 Reunion, was sold out and Cindy Sanyu said it was an activation for their major concert that is set for March 8 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Blu*3 was formed by renowned producer and entertainment entrepreneur Steve Jean when Sanyu was 17, Mbabazi was 19, and Jackie was 18. Jean managed them under Fenon Entertainment.
The divas met during the Coca-Cola Pop Stars and after the competition, which was held in 2005, they teamed up to form Blu*3.
However, the group didn't last long after Cindy was fired two years later and they brought Mya Baganda to replace her and rebranded to Blu3 (without the asterisk). The new trio was also together for a short while and they decided to go solo.
