The list of government officials falling for self-exiled Ugandan Kakwenza Rukirabashaija's extortion scam continues to grow as a number of individuals have reportedly sent him money.

Kakwenza is said to be reaching out to these officials via Whatsapp, either directly or through his accomplices in Kampala, and spinning a tale of needing money for a ticket, upkeep, or passport in Germany.

Those scammed by Kakwenza say that he was seeking forgiveness and reconciliation with Chief of Defense Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and President Yoweri Museveni.

He would ask the officials to facilitate this by sending him money for various expenses.

Some officials who fell for his scam, include the Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja, Speaker Anita Among, Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and even the President's brother Sodo Kaguta.

Reliable sources told this publication that the President had to remove his Principal Private Secretary, Kenneth Omona, from his position after falling victim to Kakwenza's scam.

Other officials that have been scammed by Kakwenza include the DG ISO Brig Charles Oluka, DG ESO, Ambasaddor Joseph Ocwet and the Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security, Maj Gen James Birungi, Presidential Advisor Odrek Rwabwoogo and former PPS Kenneth Omona among others.

Earlier this year, a source told this publication that while Kakwenza appears to be enjoying life in Europe, he inboxes senior government officials begging for money to sustain his lifestyle.
