The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Branch in South Africa is organizing a two-day symposium aimed at attracting potential investors to Uganda. The event will take place on September 27th and 28th in Johannesburg.

Unlike previous conferences that primarily focused on political mobilization, the Branch Chairman, Mr. Isma Luzige, announced that the upcoming symposium will provide a platform for Ugandans to connect with investors from southern African countries. "This is one of the ways we can contribute to the socio-economic transformation of our motherland," Luzige said during a press conference.

The symposium will feature the President and NRM National Chairman, Yoweri Museveni, as the Chief Guest, and NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong as a keynote speaker according to Luzige.

Maj(Rtd) Awich Pollar, the Director of External Affairs at the NRM Secretariat, highlighted the strong historical ties between Uganda and South Africa, forged during the Anti-apartheid struggles. "We are now focusing on economic empowerment of our people in both countries," he said.

Awich called upon Ugandans living in southern African countries to actively participate in the symposium and seize the available investment opportunities.
