
Program for 2021 Uganda Film Festival Unveiled
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) unveiled the program for the 8th edition of the Uganda Film Festival. According to UCC, the festival activities will kick off on March 29 and end on April 2.
These activities include film screenings, workshops and forums, organized within the festival week. The festival week will end with the Uganda Film Festival Awards, where a Gala night will be held to give out prizes to winners of the different award categories.
The categories are Best script/screenplay, best post-production/editing, best feature film, best director, best sound design, best cinematography, best costume design, best production design, best indigenous film, best East African film, best international film, best actor in a feature film, best actress in a feature film and best supporting actor.
Others are best supporting actress, honorary mentions for acting, best short film, best animation, best student film, best documentary, best TV drama, best actor in TV drama, best actress in TV drama, special award/life achievement award. Submission of entries kicked off on Dec. 22 and ends today.
“All submitted films will undergo a selection process that will determine which films can be screened during the film festival,” says UCC.
The Uganda Film Festival was established in 2013 to promote the local film industry both locally and internationally, and to bring all the industry stakeholders together in a more focused and structured environment.
