President Yoweri Museveni told military officers that it’s only confidence in self that makes a person a great fighter.
“One element about fighting is to be sure of yourself,” President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief, said while passing out counter-terrorism officers this past Friday.
“When you are confident in yourself, you can handle any combat situation.”
The ceremony was held at the UPDF School of Military Intelligence and Security in Migyera, Nakasongola.
Before passing them out, the officers showcased military and combat drills like air-to-surface landing from Mi-17 choppers, as well as dropping fighters in unknown territory to confront the enemy.
The Chief of Defense Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi and the Joint Chief of Staff, Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda were present at the ceremony.
Contacted by phone, Brig. Flavia Byekwaso, the defense spokesperson -- declined to reveal the figure of officers, citing security reasons.
