Two Eritrean Refugees Arrested over Killing of Colleague
The Police in Kabalagala are investigating circumstances under which an Eritrean refugee was killed following a fight with colleagues at a local bar.
The tragic incident occurred in Kabalagala, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Hannibal Tewelde, an Eritrean national and refugee. Two suspects, Siem Fustem and Henok Foto, also Eritrean nationals and refugees, have been arrested in connection with the killing.
According to reports, the three individuals were drinking at 'My Place Bar' in the AD Plaza Apartment on Kibuli Road when a fight broke out. The suspects allegedly hit the deceased on the head with a beer bottle, causing fatal injuries.
The suspects rushed the deceased to Nsambya Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 am. The incident was reported to Kabalagala police station at 8:55 am, and officers have since been investigating the scene and taking statements from witnesses.
The body has been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination. Inquiries are ongoing, and the police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
