Uganda Airlines will this coming week receive the second Airbus A330neo, the national carrier said in social media statements. The first was received in December of last year.

This will be received on Tuesday. After its arrival, the Airline outed a statement, noting that it would be re-entering into the long-haul overseas markets.

The A330neo's operational efficiencies, range, and payload characteristics make it the most ideal aircraft for Uganda Airlines' route structure, officials have said.

According to Uganda Airlines, the airbuses will allow it to efficiently expand its network from its hub at Entebbe International Airport to connect Uganda to intercontinental destinations in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Experts say this type of aircraft is the latest version of the most popular wide-body airliner in operation today.

According to experts, the new tech incorporated into the aircraft brings superior comfort to passengers, as well as high operating and service standards to Uganda Airlines at a time when air travel has been devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Uganda Airlines placed an order for two A330-800neos in 2019 as part of its ambitious plans to expand beyond the continent.

When the new A330-800neo arrives, Uganda Airlines will have a fleet of six aircraft – two A330s and four CRJ-900s.
