Uganda Tourism Board, Architects body get new boards of directors
In a Monday cabinet meeting, ministers approved individuals to sit on the boards of directors of the Uganda Tourism Board and the Architects Registration Board.
A board of directors is a group of people who jointly supervise the activities of an organization, which can be either a for-profit or a nonprofit organization such as a business, nonprofit organization, or a government agency.
Daudi Migereko retained his position as the UTB Board chairman. UTB is a government agency charged with marketing and promoting Uganda as the preferred tourism destination in Africa.
The other members on the board are Lyazi Vivian, Mwanja Paul, Ronald Kaggwa, Al-Hajji Eng. Sooma Ayub, Chemonges Mongea Sabila, Kirya Eddy, Muhwezi Susan Kabonero, Dr. Katende Suleiman and Biriggwa Yewagnesh Mamo Yogi.
Lillian Ajarova, the UTB executive director, will serve on the board as secretary. The new board will serve for 3 years.
Architects Registration Board also got a 5-member board of directors which will be chaired by Robert Henry Kiggundu. He retained the post.
Kiggundu will be deputized by Miriam Lawino. Other members of the board are Jacinta Kabarungi Bishanga, Stephen Sendi Kajumba and Verna Mbabazi Mwinganisa.
Architects Registration Board (ARB) is a Statutory Body established by an Act of Parliament in 1996. The Architects Registration Act, Cap 269 was passed into law to empower the regulation and maintenance of the standards and practice of Architecture in Uganda. Regulate the standard of architecture in the country.
