Police have arrested a man accused of burning a trailer that caused the accident on Kiira road about two weeks ago.

Ashad Lwanga, a resident of Kamwokya is accused of torching the trailer that had been impounded at Kiira road police station on Monday at around 10pm.
“His intentions are yet to be established,” Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Spokesman Lucas Owoyesigyire said, revealing that the suspect is now being detained at Kiira road Police Station.

The burnt truck Reg.No.UAA497L had been impounded by police following the accident, in which it failed to brake and crashed a total of ten vehicles that had stopped at the traffic lights. Five people have so far died while over 20 others are still hospitalized. It is still unclear if the suspect is one of those aggrieved by the horrible accident.
