FULL LIST: UNBS Names Certified Maize Milling Companies
The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has released a list of companies that are certified to mill maize.
The list, which was updated today, contains 23 companies, producing 27 brands of certified maize flour and maize grains.
This development comes after Ugandan maize was banned in neighboring Kenya for being unsafe for human consumption with claims that it contains aflatoxin.
On top of this, the standards watchdog says it has received applications from over 50 maize flour dealers, who are in the process of certification.
