Dott Services Offers 20 Trucks to Gov’t to Distribute Relief Food
Dott Services Limited has offered 20 trucks to help government in the ongoing distribution of food to the people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Naidu Anjaneyulu, Procurement Manager, the 20 trucks with a 40tonnage each will remain property of Dott Services, but will be used by government for free until the distribution of food exercise is done.
“When we received information that government had a shortage of transport, last night, we recalled all our trucks that were working on Tirinyi Road to help in transporting food items to the people,” Naidu said.
Dott Services has also offered 2,000 litres of fuel on top of the 20 trucks. By press time, the trucks had already been fuelled and parked at Nakawa food store waiting to be loaded with food to distribute to various Divisions in Kampala, Wakiso and other parts of the country.
State minister for ICT Peter Ogwang who received the trucks on behalf of the National Taskforce on Relief commended Dott Services for their generosity in the fight against COVID-19.
“On behalf of the subcommittee on Relief, I have this morning received 20 trucks of 40tonnage each from Dott Services Limited to assist in transporting food relief. They also offered 2,000 litres of fuel. Thank you Dott Services,” Ogwang tweeted.
Apparently, Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has also offered 15 trucks to help in the distribution of food.
