The Ministry of Health today transferred the vaccination exercise from its head office to Kololo Independence Grounds.
"Vaccination will be taking place at Kololo Independence Grounds from 9am to 5pm daily, with effect from Monday", May 31, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, health workers, security personnel, teachers, people aged above 50 years and those aged between 18-50 years with co-morbidities will be allowed to get the free vaccine.
Since the exercise began in March, 589, 528 have been vaccinated, according to the ministry.
Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the ministry's spoken, said Sunday that 20 points had been created at the Grounds to facilitate the exercise.
Uganda imported 964,000 doses in March. Away from Kololo, there are other twenty locations you can go to get the vaccine.
Uganda has so far recorded 47,147 cases of the Coronavirus, 362 deaths and 43,401.
With the rapid rise in the number of cases recently, there is a possibility that a restrictive lockdown may be reinstituted to limit the spread.
