Gen Kainerugaba Commissions New Operations Center At Land Forces Headquarters
The Commander of UPDF Land Forces (CLF) Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has commissioned a new Operations Centre at the Land Forces Headquarters in Bombo, kicking off the renewal and rebuilding of Land Forces structures.
Gen Kainerugaba was accompanied by his Deputy Maj Gen Sam Okiding, the UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda and the CMI Chief Maj Gen James Birungi. The Land Forces Chief of Staff Brig Gen Bob Ogiki was also present among other Senior UPDF Officers.
For about an hour, Gen Kainerugaba and the senior officers walked around the Land Forces Headquarters to appreciate the state of infrastructure at the UPDF Infantry Headquarters.
After the tour, Gen Kainerugaba commissioned the new state of the art Operations Center before having a brief meeting with his soldiers.
During his address as he took over Office as CLF last year , Gen Kainerugaba promised to improve the welfare, training and ideological orientation.
"The commander in chief has guided this new team to focus on enhancing combat capabilities, addressing the welfare deficit of the troops by improving accommodation and living standards, ensuring the health of our officers especially in these challenging times and above all intensify political education,” Lt Gen Muhoozi said last year.
It should be remembered that during his time as Commander Special Forces Command, Gen Kainerugaba championed a number of projects aimed at improving the living standards of soldiers.
In his last months as Commander SFC, Gen Kainerugaba Gen Kainerugaba Commissioned new structures including a medical store, a residence of the deputy commander SFC, a communication center and an administration block.
It is therefore no surprise that the same is starting to happen at the Land Forces Headquarters.
