The Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa in Kigo set the stage for a memorable evening as the newly established Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf celebrated its Charter Ceremony on Saturday, June 24th. With 54 esteemed members, the club reached a significant milestone in its history.

Distinguished guests, including prominent business leaders, political figures, diplomats, and traditional leaders, graced the occasion, drawn by the club's president, Jimmy Mugerwa known for his accomplishments as a celebrated business leader, coach, and board member of Uganda Breweries Ltd.

Uganda Breweries, through its renowned single malt whisky brand, Singleton, curated an enchanting experience that radiated throughout the six-hour affair and accomplished mixologists skillfully concocted customized cocktails, adding to the allure of the night and elevating the art of drink-making.
The highlight of the evening was the official installation of Jimmy Mugerwa as the President of the newly chartered Rotary Club. Several speakers lauded Mugerwa's selflessness, devotion to his community, diligent work ethic, and, above all, his commitment to remaining grounded despite his humble beginnings.

In a captivating speech, President Jimmy Mugerwa reflected on his remarkable life journey, emphasizing his modest upbringing in Naguru, the opportunities he encountered, and the meaningful relationships he nurtured over the years. He shared how these connections ultimately influenced his decision to join Rotary, despite his initial reservations.

"I never imagined myself becoming a member, let alone the president, of this club. Rotary was not something I had dreamt of, despite numerous requests from friends. So, it surprises me to stand here today as a member," Mugerwa expressed.

The chief guest of the evening was Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda and a childhood friend of Mugerwa. Mayiga praised the Rotary fraternity for its inspirational endeavors in bringing joy to humanity. He urged the club members to inspire young individuals not solely through their accomplishments, but by sharing the journey that led them to their current positions, particularly among the young Rotarians.

The evening was characterized with live entertainment by the talented Joseph Sax and the band, who kept the guests captivated and entertained throughout the event.
