Gen Kainerugaba Discusses Bilateral Matters with Egypt’s Ambassador, Defense Attaché
The Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations (SPA/SO) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba met with the Egyptian Ambassador H.E Monzer Selim who was accompanied by his country’s Defense Attaché.
The two held a private meeting with Gen Kainerugaba in Entebbe on Friday afternoon.
According to sources close to the Office of SPA/SO, they discussed bilateral defence and security cooperation and regional developments.
The two officials reaffirmed the strong historical, cordial and deep-rooted relations between Uganda and Egypt that are founded on mutual respect.
The General attended a military course in Cairo has previously described Ugandan-Egyptian relations as very strong!
Last year, Gen Kainerugaba visited Egypt and held talks with President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and other senior Egyptian military leaders.
Upon his return, Gen Kainerugaba who had been invited by President Al-sisi said the two were both happy to meet after a long time.
"I met President el Sisi at the Egyptian Presidential Palace. We were both very happy to see each other after 12 years. We discussed strengthening the Egyptian-Ugandan defence alliance and regional security. He promised to strongly support greater Egyptian-Ugandan military relations," Gen Kainerugaba told The Kampala Post after the meeting.
"I congratulated him on assuming the highest office in Egypt and for the rapid socio-economic progress Egypt is making under his very capable leadership."
