The Chairman of the MK movement, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, recently convened with the movement coordinator for Greater Masaka to plan his upcoming visit to the region.

Mr. Haruna Kasolo, also the Minister of Microfinance, met with Gen. Kainerugaba in Kampala.

Mr Kasolo, whose appointment was announced on Twitter by deputy spokesperson of the Movement Daudi Kabanda in October, was happy with the news, noting that he was ready to work with the MK Movement.

“I am truly humbled by this appointment and do accept the role of Coordinator for MK Movement in the Greater Masaka Subregion,” Kasolo reacted, adding that: “I will continue with my crusade of engaging more youth in productive politics as we continue serving  H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's vision now and  Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba  Next for a stronger and prosperous Uganda.”

Gen. Kainerugaba has been traveling across the country, urging people to work hard to overcome poverty. During a visit to Teso, he shared his personal story of engaging in combat against LRA rebels and advocated for manageable family sizes through family planning.

During his visit to Kabale, Gen. Muhoozi emphasized the importance of good neighborly relations, expressing support for a borderless Africa. The visit coincided with the one year anniversary of the reopening of the Uganda-Rwanda border, which has significantly boosted trade in the region.

In Busoga and Sebei, Gen. Muhoozi commended the regions for nurturing talent and assured government support for talent development.

Gen. Muhoozi, also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, has been attentive to people’s concerns, pledging to promptly relay them to the President. For example, in Mubende, he addressed complaints of rampant land grabbing, assuring swift and decisive action.

With his upcoming visit to Greater Masaka, it is expected that the community's urgent needs will be prioritized and addressed.
