East African Community Leaders Congratulate DRC President Tshisekedi on Re-election

Leaders from the East African Community (EAC) have extended their congratulations to Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi after he won the electoral contest and secured a second term. President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, President Ruto of Kenya, and President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania have all praised Tshisekedi for his victory and expressed their excitement for continued cooperation with the DRC.

President Museveni of Uganda applauded Tshisekedi's positive contribution to regional efforts and expressed Uganda's eagerness for deeper cooperation with the DRC.

"I take this opportunity, on behalf of the Ugandans, to congratulate H.E Felix Tshisekedi on winning the electoral contest in Congo, as announced by the Electoral Commission," stated President Museveni.
 

Mr Museveni highlighted Tshisekedi's efforts to integrate Congo into the East African Community and collaborate with the Congo Army in dismantling the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in Eastern Congo.

Meanwhile, President William Ruto of Kenya hailed Tshisekedi's victory as a milestone in the democratic history of the DRC and emphasized the importance of strengthening the Kenya-DRC relations. "Sincere congratulations to my brother His Excellency Felix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, for a well-deserved victory," President Ruto expressed.

President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania also joined in congratulating President Tshisekedi, stating, "Heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, President Félix Tshisekedi on being re-elected as the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo." President Suluhu expressed her eagerness to continue fostering relations between Tanzania and the DRC and highlighted the importance of regional collaboration.

The unanimous congratulations from EAC leaders reflect the importance of regional cooperation and the significance of maintaining strong ties with the Democratic Republic of Congo. As Tshisekedi embarks on his second term, the messages of support and commitment from neighboring countries signal a positive outlook for future collaborations in the East African region and beyond.
