Buganda Clan Leader Shot Dead Near His Home
An incident of murder by shooting has been reported by the Territorial Police at Natete, near Kampala, involving the head Buganda’s Ndiga clan and director of Transa Electrical, Mr. Daniel Bbosa.
According to a statement issued by the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident occurred at approximately 6:00pm in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga Division.
Mr. Bbosa was fatally shot by unidentified assailants as he approached his residence, Owoyesigyire said in the statement.
Riding on a motorcycle, the assailants are said to have opened fire at Mr. Bbosa's motor vehicle, bearing registration number UAH 637X, resulting in his immediate demise, police reveals.
Meanwhile, the statement further reveals that brave local resident intervened during the attack, knocking down the assailants' motorcycle and alerting the community.
“This prompted swift mobilization by community members, leading to a confrontation with the assailants. One assailant was killed at the scene, while the other is in critical condition,” the police statement adds.
The motive behind this senseless act of violence remains unknown, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, according to Mr Owoyesigyire.
He explained that the police have recovered the firearm allegedly used in the murder, as well as the motorcycle with registration number UEX 754E used by the assailants.
