Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in Wakiso

The Police in Wakiso district are investigating a deadly shooting incident that occurred on July 23, 2024, at Buddo junction, Nakasozi cell, Nabbingo ward, Kyengera town council.

The shooting resulted in the deaths of two people, a male adult and a female pedestrian, according to a statement issued by the police.

According to preliminary reports, the incident involved a group of people who were blocked by a motor vehicle, UAK 375U, with occupants dressed in military attire. A scuffle ensued, leading to the shooting.

Police have recovered a pistol with two rounds of ammunition and twelve cartridges from the crime scene. The suspected vehicle, UAK 375U, has also been recovered and is being held as evidence.

Statements have been recorded from eyewitnesses, including CPL Okiror Daniel, who was involved in the incident.

The police say efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
