Eight Dead, Several Injured in Kagadi Village Attack
A violent attack on residents in Mizizi A Village, Kyaterekera Sub-County, Kagadi District, claimed eight lives and left several others injured on the night of October 29, 2024. The incident, which took place around 9:00 PM, involved unidentified assailants who targeted local residents in a deadly assault, according to a statement from Police.
According to the statement, the deceased are;

- Kabuwere Norah, 64
- Muhindo Praise, 7
- Kabugho Anitah, 44
- Masika Kabagenyi, 3
- Baluku Ferdinandi, 13
- Kabugo Olive, 13
SP Hakiza Julius Allan, Regional Police spokesperson for Albertine said eight more victims sustained injuries and have been admitted to various clinics in the area for treatment.
Hakiza said two suspects—33-year-old Baguma Obedi and 36-year-old Munyirambe David—were killed while reportedly attempting to engage security forces during the operation.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear. The police have called on the public to aid in the investigation. "We appeal to the public to provide any information regarding this incident. "Your cooperation is crucial in bringing the perpetrators to justice," Hakiza said.
The tragic incident has shaken the Kagadi community, and police continue to pursue leads to understand the reasons behind this act of violence.
