The International Peace Support Operations Training Centre (IPSO-TC) in Singo has held its first-ever pass-out ceremony for the United Nations Trainer of Trainees (UN-TOT) course, ushering in a new cadre of certified officers.
The three-and-a-half-week programme, conducted under the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI), prepared eight participants to design, deliver, and evaluate training in line with United Nations peacekeeping and humanitarian operation standards.
Presiding over the event, Brig Gen John Patrick Otongo, Commandant of IPSO-TC, praised the course completers for their discipline and dedication.
He urged them to apply their newly acquired skills in both international peace missions and national development efforts.
Veronica Ko, In-Country Training Lead for Apogee Systems Cooperation under GPOI, applauded the participants’ cooperation during the course and encouraged them to share their expertise widely to strengthen peacekeeping training and enhance service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the cohort, L/Cpl Ogema George Yonah thanked the IPSO-TC leadership and instructors for successfully organising the training.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers including Col David Watasa, Chief Instructor at IPSO-TC; Maj HM Batte, Head of the Teaching Team; and Maj AH Obita, Wing Commander.
