The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, has urged married couples to practice absolute financial transparency, cautioning against the habit of some men who conceal their wealth and property from their spouses.
Speaking on Saturday at the wedding reception of Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) mobilizer Mr. Frank Mwesigye and his wife, Natasha, Tayebwa emphasized that financial openness is a cornerstone of marital stability. He further encouraged men to actively empower their wives economically, stating that such empowerment is an investment in the family's future.
He explained that it is beneficial for men to empower their wives, even to the point where the women might have more financial resources, noting that when a man is absent, it is the woman who steps up to ensure the family is well taken care of.

The glamorous reception followed a church ceremony at Namirembe Cathedral, where the couple was wedded by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu.
The event attracted an illustrious guest list, including top government officials, diplomats, military officers, clergy, and prominent business leaders from Uganda and neighboring countries.

Notable dignitaries in attendance included Minister of State for Local Government Justine Nameere, Uganda's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, Members of Parliament Hon. Stephen Kangwagye and Hon. Fadil Twalla (the incoming Secretary General of the PLU), Tooro Kingdom's Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Henry Basaliza, Rwanda's High Commissioner to Uganda Amb. Joseph Rutabana, Assistant Inspector General of Police AIGP (Rtd) Asan Kasingye, and Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries International.

Closing the evening, the groom, Mr. Frank Mwesigye, expressed gratitude to the guests, dignitaries, and organizing committees whose diverse support contributed to the grand success of the ceremony.
