The Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has revealed plans to meet retired General David Tinyefuza Sejusa, the former military intelligence chief who once accused him of being groomed for the presidency.
The meeting, set to occur in two weeks under President Yoweri Museveni's supervision as Commander-in-Chief, could mark the end of a decade-long feud.
It should be remembered that in 2013 Tinyefuza also known as Sejusa, then serving as coordinator of intelligence services, authored a controversial memo alleging the existence of a "Muhoozi Project" - a purported scheme to position Gen Kainerugaba as Uganda's next President .
The document's explosive claims about political purges within the military establishment forced Sejusa into temporary exile in the United Kingdom.
Sejusa would later return to Uganda in 2014 and met the President shortly after his return.
The impending meeting follows a social media post by General Kainerugaba, who struck a conciliatory tone: "I have made peace in my heart with General Tinyefuza. After all the injury he heaped on me for many years, I forgive him. I will meet him under the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief in exactly two weeks!"
