It brings together defence and military operations experts from more than 18 countries, African Union regional bodies, and Force Commanders from United Nations and African Union peace support missions.

General Maphwanya is among the military chiefs and experts participating in the conference, which opened on 5th October and ends on the 8th.

The conference is discussing how African countries can strengthen their response to emerging and non-traditional security threats, including terrorism, organised crime, cyber warfare, public health emergencies, and climate-related crises and natural disasters.
