Two senior Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) officers have graduated from the National Defence College - Kenya (NDC-K), completing a demanding one-year military programme.
Col. Kenneth Shilling and Col. Itungo Rwakisheija were among the graduates of Intake 28 of the 2025/2026 course at a ceremony held in Nairobi.
The event was attended by Brig. Gen. McDans Kamugira, the Defence Advisor for Uganda in Kenya, who expressed pride in the officers' achievement.
"Honoured to witness the graduation of two of our UPDF officers, Col. Kenneth Shilling and Col. Itungo Rwakisheija, at the National Defence College - Kenya (NDC-K) today," Brig. Gen. Kamugira said in a message on his X platform.
"After a demanding academic year, they have completed this important course — Intake 28-2025/26."
He extended sincere appreciation to the UPDF leadership for seconding the officers for the training.
"Congratulations, gentlemen!" Brig. Gen. Kamugira added.
The graduation underscores the continued military cooperation between Uganda and Kenya, with senior officers from both nations attending each other's staff and defence colleges to strengthen regional security ties.
