The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has recovered missing Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) Integrated Science scripts for candidates of Bamure Primary School in Koboko District.

In a press statement dated February 3, 2026, Principal Public Relations Officer Jennifer Kalule-Musamba said the situation is now under control and marking will proceed.

“The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) would like to assure the public that the missing PLE scripts of Integrated Science for learners of Bamure Primary School, Koboko District, have been recovered and examiners invited for marking and subsequent grading of the candidates,” she said.

The Board discovered during pre-release quality checks that scripts for 34 candidates were missing. The learners were temporarily awarded an ‘X’ as officials searched for the papers at marking centres and the school.

Kalule-Musamba said the investigation led to the discovery of a sealed envelope containing the scripts. It was found intact in a lockable UNEB materials box kept in the headmaster’s office.

“For avoidance of doubt, the envelope was first handed over to Koboko Central Police Station who collected it from the school, and confirmed that it had not been tampered with. The scripts have now been passed on to UNEB for marking,” she said.

She reassured parents, candidates, and other stakeholders that the papers will be marked quickly to ensure learners are graded in time for selection and placement.

“The Board hereby reassures the parents and candidates of Bamure Primary School, and all concerned stakeholders that the scripts will be marked expeditiously and the candidates graded in time for the selection and placement exercise,” Kalule-Musamba said.
