Entebbe International Airport saw a significant rise in passenger traffic in August 2025, setting a new record for international arrivals and departures.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) reported a total of 243,089 international passengers for the month, surpassing July’s record by a considerable margin. This total includes 116,507 arrivals and 126,582 departures, averaging 7,841 passengers daily.

Key factors behind the surge include major sporting events and international conferences, which attracted more travellers to the airport.

The cargo sector also performed strongly, handling 5,257 metric tonnes of goods, including 2,010 metric tonnes of imports and 3,247 metric tonnes of exports. Fresh produce continues to be a major export.
