Kampala's luxury hospitality landscape is undergoing a massive transformation following the construction of the new five-star Kampala Marriott Hotel on Ggaba Road in Nsambya.
The ultra-luxury twin-tower property features high-end hotel rooms, executive apartments, and commercial spaces. It is designed to operate as an elite multi-use development.
A high-level government delegation from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development conducted a guided tour of the facility yesterday to assess its final implementation progress. The Director of Economic Affairs, Moses Kaggwa, led the team alongside the Commissioner for Tax Policy, John Byahuranga.
The Chairman and founder of Capital Shoppers Supermarkets, Ponsiano Ngabirano, who owns the property, received the government officials. He guided them through the massive architectural establishment.

Moses Kaggwa highly commended the impressive construction milestone. He noted that the state-of-the-art hospitality facility aligns perfectly with ongoing state development goals.
"Part of Government policy is to support branded 5 star international standard hotels to attract ultra-rich tourists," Kaggwa said.
The economic director explained that tourism remains one of the strategic anchor sectors for national development. Under the national ATMS (Aviation, Tourism, Marinas, and Sports) development strategy, the state aims to double both tourist arrivals and overall tourism expenditures within the country.
The exquisite commercial facility is now under the direct supervision of the global Marriott Management team. Experts are currently on-site executing final technical and interior decorations ahead of the official grand opening.
The world-class complex stands adjacent to the Mestil Hotel and Residences. It is expected to create hundreds of local jobs and significantly raise regional hospitality standards upon its launch.
