The Senior Management Committee of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has completed a comprehensive two-day assessment of strategic oil, industrial, and agricultural projects in the Albertine Graben.
OWC Deputy Chief Coordinator Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi led the inspection team across the region.
The mission focused on investment integrity, infrastructure readiness, environmental safety, and host-community economic empowerment.
Brig Gen Muwanguzi instructed project developers to maintain strict delivery schedules and safeguard public resources.
The delegation toured TotalEnergies’ Tilenga oil project in Buliisa District and CNOOC’s Kingfisher Oil Field in Kikuube District.
At the Kingfisher Central Processing Facility, company engineers detailed active drilling operations, crude processing systems, waste management protocols, and environmental safeguards.
Technical teams also briefed the OWC leadership on construction progress along the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) corridor to Tanga, Tanzania.
In Hoima District, the committee reviewed the updated Master Plan for Kabaale Industrial Park, designed to anchor petrochemical refining, light manufacturing, and heavy logistics.
Government representatives confirmed plans to reach the Final Investment Decision (FID) on the domestic oil refinery project by February 2027.
The delegation also examined readiness milestones at Kabaale International Airport, a critical aviation link for cargo and heavy machinery transport.
Shifting focus to community integration, the team visited Kaseeta Modern Ecological Demonstration Farm in Kikuube District.
The agricultural model showcased commercial farming methods, post-harvest handling, and local supply chain linkages designed to lift household incomes alongside oil developments.
OWC leadership concluded the tour by demanding strict environmental compliance, responsible public investment management, and aggressive development of local value chains across the Albertine Graben.
