Gen Kainerugaba Sends Get-Well Message to Tamale Mirundi

The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sent a get-well-soon message to veteran journalist and author Joseph Tamale Mirundi who has been unwell in the past few days.

In the personal note written in Luganda, Gen Kainerugaba expressed solidarity with Mr. Mirundi whom he described as an old friend and wished him a speedy recovery.

"Nnyoredwa okuwulira nti mukwano gwange Tamale Mirundi embela ye eyobulamu tebadde nungi nga era yaweleddwa ekitanda mu ddwaliro. Mwagaliza okussuka amangu dala. Tamale Mirundi munywanyi wange okuva edda era omulwanilizi owensi yaffe Uganda ateerya muntama," Gen Kainerugaba tweeted in Luganda on Tuesday morning.

Loosely translated, the General said "I have learnt with sadness that my friend Tamale Mirundi's condition hasn't been good and that he has been admitted in the hospital. I wish him fortitude for a full recovery. Tamale Mirundi is my friend from long ago and an indefatigable patriot."

Mr Mirundi has been admitted at Kisubi Hospital but in a voice recording obtained by the Kampala Post, Mirundi says he is now feeling much better and out of the hospital.

In the message, the former Presidential Press Secretary thanks President Museveni for sending him a representative to check on him, adding that he is now resting and will be back soon.

Mr Mirundi is a regular on several media houses in Kampala and has written a number of books about the politics in the country.
