PLU Launch: Gen MK Says Journey Has Just Started

The senior presidential advisor for special operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainetugaba had expressed his gratitude towards veteran politician Mike Mukula for presiding over a ceremony where it was announced that the MK Movement has transformed into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba took to social media to share his feelings about this milestone. "The journey has just started," Gen MK posted in Kiswahili. "I want to thank my big brother @Mukulaa for officiating at the Patriotic League of Uganda's Proclamation Ceremony today. He spoke very well. I want to thank our millions of supporters and well-wishers for helping us to reach this milestone. Uganda will be great! Safari imeanza tu!"

This shift in the movement's identity from the MK Movement to the Patriotic League of Uganda is said to not just be a rebranding effort, but a strategic move to broaden the organization's impact and scope.

Instead of being solely focused on politics, those in its leadership say the PLU aims to emphasize collective national improvement and unity.

During the event held at their new office in Naguru, Central Committee member Michael Mawanda clarified the PLU's mission as a civic organization dedicated to the principles of independence, sovereignty, and development of Uganda.

The event was attended by leaders from various political affiliations, highlighting the collaborative nature of the PLU's mission.
