Aster DM Healthcare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uganda’s Ministry of Health to formalise the donation of a fully equipped mobile medical clinic.
According to a statement issued by the Consulate General of Uganda in Dubai, the clinic is intended to improve access to healthcare services in underserved communities across the country.
Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is a multinational for-profit hospital network that operates hospitals, medical centres, diagnostic centres, laboratories and pharmacies in six GCC countries and India.
The mobile medical unit, which is being custom-built in India, will be fully equipped with diagnostic and treatment facilities. It is expected to arrive in Uganda within the next three months.
Once operational, the clinic will provide primary healthcare services in remote and rural areas.
The official MoU signing ceremony will take place in Kampala and will be attended by senior officials from Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Aster DM Healthcare and other key stakeholders.
This partnership is part of a broader collaboration between Uganda and Aster DM Healthcare, with plans to send medical professionals from the UAE to work alongside Ugandan healthcare workers.
The initiative includes specialist outreach programmes, knowledge exchange and capacity-building efforts to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare system.
